The Clone Wars

So, I’m confused by Star Wars: The Clone Wars.  Both the movie and the new Cartoon Network TV show.
Okay - Episodes 1 - 3 were about making George Lucas tons more money.  As a side note, they were also intended to show us the descent of Anakin Skywalker from annoying little child savant to evil [...]

Chuck vs Huey Lewis and the News

Tonight was the season premiere of Chuck on NBC.  Chuck is a guy who works for a Best Buy like company in the ‘Nerd Herd’ - think ‘Geek Squad’ and you’ve pretty much got it.  His arch enemy from college sends him an email one night that ends up getting downloaded into his brain giving [...]

Debates continued

7:23. My next impression: Senator Obama was doing really well until he reacted to Senator McCains comments on taxes. At that point, he seemed turn stumble a little.
7:26. Senator McCain appears very stiff to me. Like he is uncomfortable, this isn’t anything new though-I think he always looks stiff.
7:30. On direct [...]

Debates

I’m watching the first debate and my very first impression is that McCain isn’t paying attention to Obama when he’s talking. When they split the screen, McCain is looking down or away. That bugs me.
I don’t know why.

The Best Space Battles Part 9

Star Trek: Battle of Wolf 359

We are the Borg. Existence, as you know it, is over. We will add your biological and technological distinctiveness to our own. Resistance is futile.

The Best Space Battles Part 7

Babylon 5

What’s a solidier to do when faced with illegal orders and a government that isn’t listening?
Well, if you’re John Sheridan, you secede and declare your independence.  When that brings your own people down on you in a civil war, you have no choice but to fight to defend all that you hold dear.
And, just [...]

The Best Space Battles Part 5

Battlestar Galactica

Your colony worlds have been destroyed or devastated by nuclear attack.
Your military has been eliminated by an enemy that can simply turn off your ships and pick them off one by one while they float, harmlessly, through space.
You have exactly 50,000 survivors left and one very old Battlestar to protect them from two enemy [...]

Robotech Revisited

The year was 1985. I was living in Fresno, California and we had two local independent television stations offering shows on after school. The first station ended up becoming one of the first FOX affiliates a year later. The second remained ‘independent’ and probably, eventually, became a WB station but that was [...]
